John Mayer Twitters a Jennifer Aniston Engagement

Not FunnyJohn!.. well maybe a little.. :o)

John Mayer recently decided to screw with bloggers and gossip columnists everywhere by writing a Twitter post about getting engaged to girlfriend Jennifer Aniston. No, Mayer hasn't confused us into really thinking he's getting engaged, but he sure has figured out a way to annoy the hell out of us. Which would be news if he hadn't already figured that out countless times over. Isn't this also the sort of stunt that Jennifer Aniston hates, and that led to their break-up the first time around? Don't doubt your instincts, Jen. You were definitely right, it sucks when your boyfriend pulls lame stunts like this one.

On Friday, John Mayer wrote on his Twitter account, "Visiting the Diamond Exchange in Tustin." On Saturday he added, "Welding an engagement ring for my girlfriend." We'd like to take a moment to ponder how it makes Jennifer Aniston feel that her boyfriend finds the idea of getting engaged to her so hilarious and outrageous, that he's writing fake Twitter posts about it. We can only imagine it does wonders for an aging, desperate to appear happy and satisfied actress's self-esteem.

In Aniston's recent GQ interview, (we remember it vaguely...something about a tie...naked), when John Mayer's blogging habits were brought up by the interviewer, Aniston cut him off and noted that Mayer hadn't been blogging lately. When the interviewer conceded that she was right, and asked why not, Aniston said, "things change."

No, apparently they don't. Writing a Twitter post about your relationship is still writing a post about your relationship. And making a video of yourself taking shots at Brad Pitt (John Mayer did that too), also counts as talking about your relationship. And if Mayer finds communicating with the press about his private life too irresistibly fun to stop doing it...well maybe there's not enough fun happening in his private life? We're just giving you some food for thought, Jennifer. Who are we kidding? We're just giving you eight glasses of wine for thought!

Most Creative Proposals

Via: SheKnows.com

While over-the-top proposals are definitely popular with the general public, celebrities are in a class all their own when it comes to popping the question. Get inspired by these top proposal stories that seem straight out of the movies.

Jason Sehorn to Angie Harmon, Los Angeles, CA.

When model-turned-actress Angie Harmon (Law & Order) made a guest appearence on the Tonight Show in October of 1998, she had no idea that her boyfriend Jason Sehorn (of the New York Giants) was waiting in the wings. After peppering Harmon with questions about her love life, host Jay Leno brought Sehorn on stage -- where Sehorn dropped to one knee and surprised a stunned Harmon with a marriage proposal on live, national television. Harmon's father was also in attendance, as was the show's musical guest Elton John, who made the event even more memorable by serenading the couple with a song.

Michael Douglas to Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aspen, CO.

The eve of the millennium was the date, and the Aspen home of Hollywood producer and actor Michael Douglas was the setting for a New Year's proposal. Following an evening of celebration to bring in the new year/century/millennium, etc., Douglas quietly presented actress Catherine Zeta-Jones with an antique, 10-carat marquise-cut diamond ring. Zeta-Jones -- then two-months pregnant with the couple's son -- said yes, and the couple announced their engagement to the expectant press.

Seal to Heidi Klum, Whistler, B.C.

There was nothing ordinary about British singer Seal's proposal to supermodel Heidi Klum. Not only did he have an igloo built for the occasion, but had it placed inside a snow cave... on a glacier... at 14,000 feet. Klum later described the proposal as "a once-in-a-lifetime event," and she has a 10-carat cushion-cut diamond ring to support her statement.

Tom Cruise to Katie Holmes, Paris, France.

After a mere two months of dating, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise popped the question to actress Katie Holmes in the wee small hours of the morning atop the Eiffel Tower. Although it may seem clichéd, the Paris landmark is a dreamy backdrop for a romantic proposal, and Cruise doubled the romance factor by proposing after a private, candlelit dinner at the Tower's formal restaurant, Le Jules Verne. The 2005 proposal was capped with a 5-carat diamond engagement ring, and the news announced to the world via a press conference later that morning.

Celebrity Wedding News: Fergie and Josh Duhamel

The first big wedding of the year happened on Saturday! Fergie and Josh Duhamel tied the knot during a rock and roll themed wedding designed by Mindy Weiss at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu. The bride who had been working hard to lose some pre-wedding pounds, reportedly looked gorgeous in a Dolce & Gabbana gown and her bridesmaids wore black. The reception was held inside a white tent that was decorated to look like a blinging tree forest to incorporate both Josh’s love of nature and Fergie’s love of bling. Guests included the rest of the Black Eyed Peas, some of Josh’s co-stars on Las Vegas, as well as new parents Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell, Mario Lopez, Kate Hudson, and Kid Rock. Fergie’s mom has also revealed that Kid Rock and will.i.am performed during the reception and that the guest list included approximately 375 guests. After leaving their party at 2am, the couple jetted off to a tropical honeymoon locale. Many congratulations to the happy couple! Here’s a first look at Fergie and Josh’s wedding from Us Weekly! Apparently Josh’s thoughts when he first saw Fergie were: “Keep it together, you big baby!” How cute, right and don’t they look great? After the traditional Catholic ceremony, Fergie said, “I’m married, b**ches” and then the real party started! I’ve also included a picture of them jetting off to their honeymoon, the special vintage Fergie and Josh Moet served at their reception, as well as their invites designed by Lehr & Black!

Celebrity Engagement News: Gisele Bundchen & Tom Brady

Forget the Super Bowl party, it's time to plan a wedding.

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady are making some major post-season plans after getting engaged in Los Angeles over the weekend, PEOPLE has learned.

The New England Patriots quarterback, 31, proposed with a diamond solitaire to the Brazilian supermodel, 28, on Friday. "He asked and she accepted," a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. Family and friends were informed over the weekend. An official announcement, as well as preliminary wedding details, are being planned by Bündchen and her closest friends this week.

"The couple is discussing a huge fashionista event in the spring or a more intimate and quicker ceremony in Costa Rica, where Gisele has a home," the source adds.

First Marriage for Both
While engagement rumors flew – and were denied – before Christmas, the January engagement will mark the first marriage for both. Bündchen's agent told PEOPLE, "We don't comment on our clients' private lives." Though Bündchen had ended her longtime relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio in 2005, Brady was romantically involved when the couple met. Shortly after, he broke off his relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan. In August 2007, Moynahan gave birth to Brady's son, John Edward Thomas.
